Upcoming Changes!


Hi! This post serves as a short overview of the features coming in the next version of this Defiled West early demo. 


Big Changes

  • Exterior art for three levels, redesigned town gameplay + feel
  • Controls have been updated to be simpler and easier to grasp, removing unnecessary complication
  • New Melee weapons with screenshake, SFX and art
  • New Ranged weapons such as a Bow, Double Barrel Shotgun and Spectral Rifle (and more)
  • New Pick and Choose system for selecting abilities upon completing a level, instead of upgrading them at the Well in Stickstead.
  • Gadgets are available to every player, not just gunslingers.
  • InSpectre is a small ghostly companion who will help you discover the world of Defiled West.
  • The Third Level, "Sacrificial Sheriffs" will be available. 
  • Window Hordes: Enemies will now pile in from windows in every level, increasing the pressure and keeping you uncomfortable.
  • Several new enemies!

Not so big changes

  • So much new art, including an entirely redrawn Hotel Hunger. (Level one)
  • Some enemies have full animation sets
  • Tens of bugs fixed including all issues present in the previous version (that we knew of)
  • Throwable weapons
  • Hybrid weapons (melee + ranged), (spectral + physical)
  • Lots of useful hints
  • The ability to customise the appearance of your ghostly companion (limited options at the moment)
  • You can drop items from your inventory by right clicking on them
  • Updated main menu
  • Ambient soundtrack in Stickstead

There's a lot more than that, but this list highlights the main changes you'll see in the next update.
